This tour will enchant you with its exceptional game viewing experience that covers the northern safari circuit! If you want to know why more than two million wildebeest migrate each year, the Ndutu calving season that takes place in Ngorongoro conservation area and the Ndutu plains will provide you with the information you need as its gorgeous. This safari full of action and magnificent scenery, takes you from sleepy towns to lush forests, grassy plains, spectacular landscapes, and finally into the lovely caldera.

Day by day description
Day 1: Arrival JRO/transfer to Arusha
On arrival you will be met by our Gusa Africa Naturalist guide and transfer to arusha which takes approximately one hour.
Depending on your time of arrival in Tanzania, you can decide if you would like to receive a short briefing with your guide on the same day or the next morning. The rest of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure. Enjoy the hotel, relax and get ready for your Tanzanian adventure!

Day 2: Mto wa Mbu cultural activities
After breakfast at around 8:00am you will depart to Mto wa mbu, a small vibrant village with variety of cultural as its home to people from different tribe. You will take a stroll through the banana and rice plantation, meet the local and see how these people go about their daily lives. You will have lunch in Mto wa Mbu a good opportunity to taste Tanzanian local dishes. After a variety of cultural exploration at Mto wa Mbu you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
You will end the day listening to amazing bird sounds from trees and gardens of the amazing Marera Valley Lodge where you will spend your night.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
With a 21 km diameter, the Ngorongoro caldera is home to up to 25,000 large animals and more than 360 different bird species. Additionally, the crater boasts Africa’s highest predator density. Other animals hide in the dense jungle on high crater walls, while others play in the fascinating setting of the crater floor. Be in awe of the grasslands that are crisscrossed by rivers, lakes, forests, and mountains.
The crater is known as the multiple land use property as animals and the Maasai people have managed to coexist together in harmony therefore don’t be surprised to see cattle amongst buffalo herds
After an adventurous day you ascend the crater and head Ndutu in the Ngorongoro conservation Area. You will get to lodge check-in and have the rest of your evening resting.

Day 4 & 5: Full day Ndutu
Ndutu is located in Ngorongoro Conservation Area, south of Serengeti National Park. There are almost two million wildebeest and zebra that move through the area each year. On February, the Migration is at Ndutu, and it is the calving season, the wildebeest give birth to approximately 8,000 babies a day. This is after nearly half a million of them had already been born from January, forming the sea of ungulates that attracts hungry predators, making live kill a possibility to spot.
You will have lunch in the middle of the wilderness before going on with an exploration of awesome sights of the great vibrant herds of wildebeest, zebras and antelopes.
The blanket of grass is advantageous for the herds as it provides cover from predators as well as providing much-needed nutrients to the calves who are able to run minutes after they are born and within 3 days, they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herds.

Day 6: Game enroute to Serengeti
After breakfast, at 08:00am set off for a scenic drive to Serengeti National Park known for its famous wildebeest migration and a large concentration of wildlife. On the way to Serengeti, you will have an enroute game viewing in Tanzania’s oldest park and UNESCO World Heritage Site as the route is famous for spectacular wildlife spotting chances. You will get to lodge for lunch, rest and head out again for an afternoon game drive in Serengeti wilderness and get to enjoy scenic views of this award-winning endless plains and abundance wildlife.
You will drive back to the lodge during the evening whilst enjoying the beautiful sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Full day Ndutu
After a breakfast, head out to enjoy a full day game drive in the Ngorongoro Ndutu area, following the herds of wildebeests, Zebras and Gazelles who will be culminating the famous calving season. Few last babies will be born. Day 7: Transfer to Seronera Airstrip – Zanzibar
This marks the end of wildlife safari! However, one last adventure is left: the drive to the airstrip. This is your opportunity to find something special as a parting memory in the landscape as you drive to the Airstrip to catch your flight to Zanzibar
As soon as you touch the ground of the spice islands of Zanzibar you will be transferred to Z hotel for overnight.

Day 8 & 9: Day in Leisure at the beach
Today, you will be in the driver’s seat and plan any activity of your choice around Nungwi beach or Zanzibar Island in general. This gorgeous beach has a lot of ventures to offer including walking tours, diving excursions, and parasailing, just to name a few. The hotel organizes a lot of pursuits like diving, snorkelling, village tours and others that you can book and pay for directly

Day 10: Morning in leisure, transfer to Zanzibar Airport
Today marks the end of your Tanzania tour.
Enjoy your last breakfast & sunrise in Zanzibar and get prepared for the airport transfer for your departure flight depending on your home flight departure time.
