Day by day description
Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport – Welcome to Tanzania
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and welcomed by our Gusa Travel guide and transfer to Arusha, a journey that takes approximately 1h30m. If the weather is good you will get to see a glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro on the way. You will also see people alongside the road conducting their normal daily activities. Feel free to tell your driver to stop the vehicle in case you see anything interesting that you need clarity on. You will get to the hotel in good time to rest before dinner.

Day 2: Arusha National Park
After breakfast at your accommodation, your exciting excursion begins. With a picnic lunch, you will drive to Arusha National Park, one of Northern Tanzania’s smallest parks but one with an abundance of options for wildlife viewing. It takes around 1h45m to drive from Arusha to the park, and once you arrive, your guide will locate an ideal location for you to admire the picturesque views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the roof of Africa. Treat yourself with a good view of the Ngurdoto crater famously known as “mini Ngorongoro”, the Momella and Tululisa lakes, the Fig tree arch together with a variety of wildlife species like buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, birds, and good number of primates.
You will have lunch in one of the picnic sites close to Momella lake with the beautiful vista of hippos and water birds. After lunch you will continue search for game viewing opportunities in other parts of the park.
As evening draws close you will depart the park and drive to your accommodation to rest before dinner.

Day 3: Maasai Village/ Mto wa Mbu Cultural Activities
Today after breakfast, you will drive to a Maasai Boma to experience “a day in Maasai Boma”. You will get to know the villagers and participate in daily activities, like milking cows, renovate their houses, or wearing traditional dress. You will learn the norms and customs of one of the most authentic tribes in East Africa, their songs, meals and how they do their normal daily activities.
You will then proceed to Mto wa Mbu for a hot local lunch, a very good opportunity to explore Tanzanian dishes. You can also test a local banana beer to add a unique taste of local flavor.
After lunch, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast you will depart with picnic lunch and heard to Ngorongoro crater. Explore wildlife in the self-contained ecosystem of Ngorongoro crater.
This is a land of multiple uses where wild animals and human beings have managed to co-exist together in harmony. You will drive more than 600 meters deep to Ngorongoro crater, a fallen mountain believed to erode more than millions of years ago. You will have game drive to search for various animals from endangered black rhinos, lions, buffaloes, elephants, gazelles, warthogs, hippos, zebras, waterbucks, hyenas, jackals, to large flocks of flamingos along Lake Magadi. In the afternoon you will ascend the crater and drive to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro conservation Area with game enroute. You will witness spectacular view of Ngorongoro highlands as you drive towards the endless plains. While waiting for your guide to complete the gate formalities, you can climb up a giant kopje to get a better view of the vast savanna that extends to the horizon. These large rocks serve as habitat for various species of flora and wildlife that are unique to these strange-looking stone formations. You will get to the camp in good time for check-in and rest a bit before dinner.

Day 5: Full Day Serengeti National Park
Today after breakfast is another day for a great adventure in Serengeti National Park, home to all five of the Big Five. You may decide to go for optional Balloon ride in the midst of the endless plain which end with breakfast in the bush.
Talk to your guide on what you want to see as every area of the Serengeti has something special to offer. Whether it’s witnessing a rhino amble through the bush near Kopjes, spying on a wild dog, or gasping as you watch a huge cat hunt its meal. You will go back to the camp for lunch then head out again for an afternoon game drive at around 15:00. You will enjoy the sunset as you drive back to the camp during the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Drive to the Airstrip / Fly to Zanzibar
After breakfast, you will drive to Seronera Airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon touch down in Zanzibar, you will be transferred to the hotel for overnight. Dinner on your own arrangement.

Day 7, 8 & 9: Nungwi Beach
These two days, you will be in the driver’s seat and plan any activity of your choice around beach. This gorgeous beach has a lot to offer including walking tours, diving excursions, and parasailing, just to name a few. The lodge organizes a lot of pursuits like diving, snorkeling, village tours and others that you can book and pay for directly. The lodge is booked on half board basis only; hence lunch will be on your own arrangement.

Day 10: Morning in Leisure/ Transfer to the Airport / Depart
After Breakfast you will drive to the Airport for your flight back home depending on your flight schedule.
