Day by day description

Day 1: Arrival JRO – Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arrival to Tanzania, you will be met and welcome by our Nature in Spirit Travel Guide and
have a short transfer to the lodge not very far from the airport where you will have dinner an spend
the night. The lodge is located on a hill in the middle of the stunning East African savannah
landscape. Visitors can take in the expansive views of the African plains and, of course, the majestic
Kilimanjaro Mountain, which primarily displays its snowy summit during the morning and at
sunset.

Day 2: Mkomazi National Park

After breakfast, you will depart your accommodation with packed lunch and heading away from the Northern circuit. Along the way you will pass by the Mount Kilimanjaro famously known as the roof of Africa and the Northern Pare Mountains. The journey to Mkomazi National Park takes approximately 1 hours from Moshi.

You will get to Mkomazi National Park and proceed game drive, you may come across Oryx, gerenuk, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackal, elephant, buffalo, hartebeest, giraffe, warthog and crocodiles. Mkomazi National Park shares a border with Tsavo National Park in Kenya, so game comes and goes between the parks. You will have lunch in one of the designated picnic sites. After lunch, you will visit Mkomazi Rhino Sanctuary located at Mbula area in the park. It is designed in such a way that visitors can have an access to view these charismatic big games in a close range possible. After the experience you will head to other part of the part in search for game viewing opportunities. Along with many other species, you’ll have the chance to see endangered wild dogs, giraffes, eland, hartebeest, zebra, buffalo, elephants, and long-necked gerenuks. As evening draws near you will head back to the rest house for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Chala

After breakfast, leave with picnic lunch to Lake Chala, a magical and lesser-known place that is located right near the international border between Tanzania and Kenya. It has an obligatory view of Lake Chala and the plains of both countries. Here you can do a walking safari and visit a lake to do a canoe. The lake is inside a crater.

Day 4: Sinya Wildlife Management

After breakfast, leave for the Enduimet / Sinya Wildlife Management Area located west of the highest peak in Africa, Kilimanjaro 5895 meters. A lace quite far from all reflection, it shares a border with the Amboseli National Park in Kenya, you are with pure nature and the Maasai tribe that lives the most traditional life with their herds. In the afternoon, go out for a safari in search of giraffes, elephants, monkeys, gnus, zebras, baboons, gazelles, birds of many different colors and sizes. Best place for a natural walk with wild animals by your side without fear and dangers. Here you can see the best incredible sunsets.

Day 5: Game en route to Masai Lodge

Go out with picnic food, safari en route to the Maasai Lodge, it is a very comfortable Maasai villagetype lodge and different from all the places we are going to be, Unique and special. It is very close and has an obligatory view of Kilimanjaro.

Day 6: Lake Natron.

After breakfast at camp, you will start the journey to Lake Natron, a ride that will take you through bumpy paths, remote Maasai areas with stunning views of the ‘mountain of God’ Ol Doinyo Lengai and if you’re lucky, you might even come across some giraffes, zebras, or other animals. The drive takes around 2hours and once you arrive at the entrance gate of Lake Natron area, a local Maasai guide will escort you to camp where you will check-in, have time to freshen up then have lunch. Visiting this whole area without a local guide is not allowed, so any excursion you do will be in his presence.

After lunch, accompanied by your local guide, you’ll explore the lake by foot. It’s very shallow for quite some time though, so it’s up to you to see how far you want to go to get close to the flamingos. After the visit, you’ll return to camp and at around 17.00 drive to the sunset hill with some drinks arranged by the Natron camp. You will get back to camp for dinner and overnight

Day 7: Lake Natron Water fall hike & Mountain Hike

The days start early today, hiking to waterfall before it gets to warm. The hike takes about 1 to 2 hours and takes you through the beautiful landscapes surrounding Lake Natron. Get ready to get wet, as you’ll have to cross the river a few times!

After the hike you will head to camp for lunch and have the rest of the day to rest and self-discovery around the camp before dinner.

Day 8: Drive to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at camp, you will depart to Serengeti National Park via Wasso with picnic lunch. It is approximately 4-5 hours to Klein’s camp gate. Later in the afternoon, you will have lunch in the park and continue with game drive heading to camp.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, go out for a full game drive with packed lunch in the wilderness tracking the animal’s trails. A million of wildebeest each year, driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in their cycle of life: a three-week of mating; survival of the fittest as they cross through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the migration begins again.
There will be a full description of this wonderful global event for which Tanzania is proud. The Serengeti, Tanzania’s oldest and most well-known national park, is famous for its annual migration, when more than six million hooves pound the open plains, zebra and Thomson’s gazelles join the wildebeest’s journey for new grazing. The Serengeti is also a world heritage site and was recently proclaimed a 7th world wonder. After game drive return back to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast you will depart the lodge at 07:00am and head out with picnic lunch to Ngorongoro Crater, a multiple land use where animals and people have managed to co-exist together in harmony. You will get there by midday then descend down this self-sustaining 600-meter-high caldera. Ngorongoro Crater, which is only 10 miles across, was created as a result of volcano activities. You will have lunch in one of the designated areas before you start an afternoon game drive on the self-sustaining ecosystem where you will come across a variety of wildlife species and if lucky you will be able to see the rare black rhino. High predator opulation can also be found in this self-sustaining ecosystem. You will drive to Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater where large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds are found. You will have lunch at a picnic site and proceed searching for game viewing opportunities.

During the evening you will ascend the crater and drive to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, embark on your adventurous journey to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch. This park has a worldwide reputation for surprising large herds of elephants and medieval baobab trees. It draws its name from Tarangire River, the only permanent source of water in the park that spans approximately 2,850 square kilometres. Among many, Tarangire National Park is home to numerous species of animals, birds and flora. You will have lunch in the parks’ designated area then you proceed with game drive. During the evening you with enjoy beautiful sunset view as you drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 12: Drive to Arusha

The end of your wildlife safari is today! However, one last adventure is left. Leaving camp in the morning after breakfast, travel through wilderness and striking landscapes dotted with traditional villages in the search of Arusha town.

In the midafternoon, you will arrive the lodge for lunch. You have the freedom to choose how you’ll spend your time this afternoon. Perhaps you’ll take a dip in the pool, relax in the outdoor bar area, walk around the lodge grounds to view the flora and fauna, or just rest up before dinner.

Day 13: Fly to Dar

After breakfast you will have a short transfer to Arusha Airport to catch a flight to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival in Dar, you will be transferred to port where you will board ferry to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the Hotel for overnight. Dinner on your own arrangement

Day 14: Stone Town tour

After breakfast you will have the morning on your own and during the afternoon you could choose to go for a stone town tour. Stone town is known worldwide for its fascinating ancient history, Stone Town is the former capital of Zanzibar sultanate which flourished as an important center of the spice & slave trade in the 19th century. The town retained its importance as the main city of Zanzibar under British colonial rule. Your Nature in Spirit Travel guide will take time to narrate to
you all the enthralling stories about Stone Town, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000. Among many, you will learn sultans’ history, slavery and trade routes, the culture of Zanzibar people like wearing style, shopping, traditional music, while having countless photographing opportunities along the tour. You will then get an opportunity to have lunch on own and get to taste the flavors of Zanzibarian dishes.

Day 15 – 17: Beach

These three days, you will be in the driver’s seat and plan any activity of your choice around the beach. This gorgeous beach has a lot of ventures and offer including walking tours, diving excursions, and parasailing, just to name a few. The lodge organizes a lot of pursuits like diving, snorkeling, village tours and others that you can book and pay for directly. The lodge is booked on bed and breakfast only hence other meals will be on your own arrangement.

Day 18: Morning in Leisure/ Transfer to the Airport

Today mark the end of your Tanzania safari. After breakfast you will have the morning to yourself then later in the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight home.
