Ndutu is located in Ngorongoro Conservation Area, south of Serengeti National Park. There are almost two million wildebeest and zebra that move through the area each year. On February, the Migration is at Ndutu, and it is the calving season, the wildebeest give birth to approximately 8,000 babies a day.

Day 4: Full day Ndutu
After a breakfast, head out to enjoy a full day game drive in the Ngorongoro Ndutu area, following the herds of wildebeests, Zebras and Gazelles who will be culminating the famous calving season. Few last babies will be born. This is after nearly half a million of them had already been born from January, forming the sea of ungulates that attracts hungry predators, making live kill a possibility to spot.
You will have lunch in the middle of the wilderness before going on with an exploration of awesome sights of the great vibrant herds of wildebeest, zebras and antelopes.
The blanket of grass is advantageous for the herds as it provides cover from predators as well as providing much-needed nutrients to the calves who are able to run minutes after they are born and within 3 days, they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herds.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
With a 21 km diameter, the Ngorongoro caldera is home to up to 25,000 large animals and more than 360 different bird species. Additionally, the crater boasts Africa’s highest predator density. Other animals hide in the dense jungle on high crater walls, while others play in the fascinating setting of the crater floor. Be in awe of the grasslands that are crisscrossed by rivers, lakes, forests, and mountains.
The crater is known as the multiple land use property as animals and the Maasai people have managed to coexist together in harmony therefore don’t be surprised to see cattle amongst buffalo herds
After an adventurous day you ascend the crater and head the lodge in Karatu. You will get to lodge check-in and have the rest of your evening resting.
