Welcome to Tanzania! You’ll visit three of the northern circuit’s major parks: Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Tarangire National Park for 8 days of incomparable game driving that will show you the best that Africa has to offer.
In addition to chasing the Big Five and seeing some stunning landscapes, you’ll also have the option to embark on a cultural safari by adding on visits to Mto wa Mbu Village and Laker Eyasi to see to meet the Hadzabe & Datoga tribesmen

Day by day description
Day 1: Arrival JRO/transfer to Arusha
On arrival you will be met by our Gusa Africa Driver guide and transfer to arusha which takes approximately one hour.
Depending on your time of arrival in Tanzania, you can decide if you would like to receive a short briefing with your guide on the same day or the next morning. The rest of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure. Enjoy the hotel, relax and get ready for your Tanzanian adventure!

Day 2: Burunge Nature walk
After breakfast, you’ll journey to Burunge Tented lodge located near Tarangire National Park, approximately two and a half hours from Arusha. You will pass through several small villages along the way where locals operate roadside shops to sell their products, giving you a feel of the amazing side of Tanzania. You can interrupt the journey at any point if you’d like to visit a store or take a market tour.
You will get to the lodge a good time to check-in, have lunch and rest a bit before you go out for an afternoon Nature Walk along Lake Burunge. Or you may decide to stay at the lodge for the rest of the evening resting and discovery around the lodge as you wait you next day adventure.

Day 3: Full day at Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, embark on your adventurous journey to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch. This park has a worldwide reputation for surprising large herds of elephants and medieval baobab trees. It draws its name from Tarangire River, the only permanent source of water in the park that spans approximately 2,850 square kilometers. Among many, Tarangire National Park is home to numerous species of animals, birds and flora. You will have lunch in the parks’ designated area then you proceed with game drive. During the evening you will enjoy beautiful sunset view as you drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 4: Mto wa Mbu cultural activities
After breakfast at around 8:00am you will depart to Mto wa mbu, a small vibrant village with variety of cultural as its home to people from different tribes. You will take a stroll through the banana and rice plantation, meet the locals and see how these people go about their daily lives. You will have lunch in Mto wa Mbu a good opportunity to taste Tanzanian local dishes. After a variety of cultural exploration at Mto wa Mbu you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
You will end the day listening to amazing bird sounds from trees and gardens of the amazing Marera Valley Lodge where you will spend your night.

Day 5: Lake Eyasi
After an early breakfast, you will depart to Lake Eyasi, a seasonal shallow Salt Lake on the Great Rift’s floor that attracts hippos who like to calm in its high salinity water.
Your tour begins when you meet a group of Hadzabe people who are always excited to share their hunting skills with visitors. They are the only true hunter-gatherers left in East Africa. You will have the opportunity to hunt, track wildlife, make a fire, collect honey from beehives and learn a lot about their customs and way of life. Your visit will be worthwhile because you will get a glimpse of authentic African culture.
You will drive back to the lodge for lunch and have the rest of the afternoon to yourself to plan what you do.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater
With a 21 km diameter, the Ngorongoro caldera is home to up to 25,000 large animals and more than 360 different bird species. Additionally, the crater boasts Africa’s highest predator density. Other animals hide in the dense jungle on high crater walls, while others play in the fascinating setting of the crater floor. Be in awe of the grasslands that are crisscrossed by rivers, lakes, forests, and mountains.
The crater is known as the multiple land use property as animals and the Maasai people have managed to coexist together in harmony therefore don’t be surprised to see cattle amongst buffalo herds
After an adventurous day you ascend the crater and head the lodge in Karatu. You will get to lodge check-in and have the rest of your evening resting.

Day 7: Game en route to Serengeti National Park
Today after breakfast you’ll begin the day driving towards the Serengeti National Park. You will pass through the rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and if lucky you will come across some wildlife. As you enter Serengeti you will witness Africa’s iconic savannah landscape and sheer number of ungulates roaming the grassy plains. You will get to the camp for lunch and rest. At around 15:00 you will choose to either go for an afternoon game drive or have the evening to yourself to rest. You can enjoy sometime around the camp fire while having a drink as you wait for dinner

Day 8: Full day Serengeti National Park
Today is fully dedicated to Serengeti National Park, perhaps the world’s most enchanting and breathtaking park on the planet. There may be few destinations that should top everyone’s bucket list to visit over a lifetime, however, Serengeti tops most of the adventure lovers. You have an opportunity to go an optional balloon ride that ends with a champagne breakfast in the midst of the bush.
After breakfast, at 7:00 am, depart the lodge for full day game drive. Your guide will take you through different parts of Serengeti in search for the best wildlife viewing spots.
At around 11:30 you will head back to the camp for lunch, rest a bit before you head out again for an afternoon game drive. You will continue searching for various animals to explore from the Big Five to giraffe, antelopes, hyena, cheetah and many more. You will enjoy sunset while driving back to camp in good time to shower and have a relaxed time around campfire before dinner.

Day 9: Transfer to the Seronera Airstrip – Fly to Arusha
This marks the end of wildlife safari! However, one last adventure is left: the drive to the airstrip. This is your opportunity to find something special as a parting memory in the landscape as you drive to the Airstrip to catch your flight to Arusha. Upon touch down in Arusha, you will have lunch in one of the restaurants before you transfer to Kilimanjaro International airport for your own flight home or flight to Zanzibar
