Overview
Ibanda Kyerwa Park is a recently established park in 2019 located in Kagera region and it covers an area of 200km2. This park, which is a crucial addition to your Tanzania safari tours, is where the borders of Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda meet.
The unknown park is a hidden gem in the country's western region, a scenic paradise with undulating hills, valleys, plains of acacia savannah, and a central basin divided by seasonal rivers that fill the park's scattered lakes and swamps.
Kagera river is the park’s main water source that sustains its abundant resources. The park is endowed with various wild animals such as African Buffalo, Hippos, Leopards, Antelopes like reed buck and roan and birds, beautiful sunrise and sunset are easily seen whilst in the park.

Accessbility
By Air: You may get flight from Kilimanjaro airport, Arusha or Dar es Salaam to Kigoma Airport (TKQ) and charter a private motorboat to Gombe.
By Boat: Depending on your budget, there’s an option of speed boat, which takes much less time- or passenger’s boat, which takes longer about 4 hrs. Boat ride is an amazing trip or ferry along the shore of Lake Tanganyika from Burundi or Zambia to Kigoma.
By train: You take a slow or fast train from Dar es salaam to Kigoma then connect with a boat to Gombe
